Big Apple meets Big D, thanks to Ed's Deli. Electrifying New York City brings many things to mind: Subways, Broadway, fine arts, entertainment, superb dining and culture. It is also synonymous with magnificent deli food that is unlike anywhere else in the world...until now. Russian-born Chef Michael Adamovsky and his Partner Ed Brandt, a native New Yorker, pay intimate homage to the culture, service and delicacy that is deli dining. Complete with the usual suspects of deli favorites that are imported directly from New York, this Dallas gem also offers more than 200 city-slicker-pleasing menu selections. Plates are piled mountain-high with shaved meat, market-day produce, fresh-baked breads, and yes, those great deli sides. The Russian-Jewish-American menu offers authentic dishes unlike anything available in North Texas.

Even the atmosphere is genuine, decorated as it is with New York scenes, nostalgic playbills and a hand-painted Central Park. So put on those Manolos and leave the Sex in the City re-runs at home...this is the real deal.

The crucial staples of any good deli (pastrami, corned beef, bagels and rye bread) were all imported from New York. We haven't experienced better in Big D. -Michele Axley, The Dallas Morning News
