LAVENDOU'S CLASSIC FRENCH PROVENÇAL RECIPES BRING THE ROMANTIC CHARM AND RELAXATION OF THE FRENCH COUNTRYSIDE TO NORTH TEXAS



The marvelous, fresh flavors and romance of the French countryside are right here in North Texas at Lavendou Bistro Provençal.

Lavendou recreates the uniquely charming dining experience and adventure of traveling to country bistros of France, complete with sidewalk café terrace dining.  Fine recipes featuring the combination of aromatics, seasonings and full-flavor ingredients of Provence are served to guests in a setting that has all the details of Southern France.  The restaurant's lovely decor, with classic Pierre Deux prints of blues and yellows, warm woods and brick arches, perfectly reflects the peaceful and relaxing elegance of the region, acclaimed for its distinctive food, wine and culture of enjoying the good life.

Open since 1996, Lavendou has received Best Dining Experience honors from The Dallas Morning News and D Magazine.  Owner Pascal Cayet and his culinary team at Lavendou have created a menu with classic French dishes, including appetizers such as Left Bank French Onion Soup with a soufflé-like crown of cheese, House Smoked Salmon, or Steamed Mussels in a white wine, cream and saffron broth.

Lunch menu favorites include Salade NicoiseSalade de Legumes Grilles au Poulet, a Grilled Vegetable Salad with roasted chicken and Parmesan cheese; Salade de Mesclum au Chevre Chaud, Crispy Warm Goat Cheese and Prosciutto With Mixed Baby Greens;  and Salade de Cailles aux Champignons Sauvages et aux Artichaux, Quail Salad With Wild Mushrooms and Artichokes.

Lavendou's Chef's Menu is also a lunch favorite, which includes several courses - classic appetizers of soups, salads, a choice of roasted Chicken, Fish of the day or pasta Provençal, and dessert.

Along with immeasurably flavorful daily specials, the dinner menu offers infinitely delightful delicacies such as Gambas et Coquilles St. Jacques en Mille Feuilles,  Scallops, Shrimp, Spinach and Mushrooms with a Cream Sauce in a Pastry Shell; Tilapia Grillé à la Provençale, Grilled Tilapia Provencal with Grilled Vegetables, drizzle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Tapenade Served with Boiled Potatoes;   La Sole De Douvres, Dover Sole sautéed in lemon butter, Grilled, or Grenonbloise; Filet de Saumon Grillé, Fillet of Grilled Salmon with Basil White Wine Sauce Served with Eggplant Caviar and Boiled Potatoes; Tournedos Felix Faure, tenderloin with Cracked black pepper, mushrooms, Cognac and Cream sauce, and Canard Roti Montmorency aux Cerises, Roast Duck with Montmorency Cherries.

Highlighting the fresh fruits of summer, dessert is a must-have at Lavendou.  Among the Classic French desserts prepared are Crème Brulee, Cherry Clafoutis, Peach Clafoutis, Crêpes, filled will the freshest seasonal berries and an ever-expanding selection of chocolate desserts.

On Thursday evenings, Lavendou guests enjoy live music in the intimate setting on the terrace, featuring the sounds of French vocal and guitar.

Accented by gracious service and elegant French countryside décor, Lavendou's menu features classic French and Provençal dishes prepared with the freshest ingredients under the guidance of owner Pascal Cayet and his culinary team, and complemented with an extensive list of French and California wines. In addition to lunch and dinner, Lavendou also serves French High Tea by reservation and offers French cooking classes each season.

On Thursday evenings, enjoy live music on the terrace, featuring the sounds of French vocal and guitar. Lavendou has a semi-private room, accommodating up to 50 guests. Choose from a selection of banquet menus or work with the maître d' to create a special menu. Catering and take out menus are also available.

Lavendou is open six days a week; Monday through Friday for lunch, French High Tea and dinner; and on Saturday for dinner only. Lunch is served Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. French High Tea is served Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (reservations required). Dinner is served Monday through Saturday from 6 to 10:30 p.m.
